About The GVI Program

The Group Violence Intervention Program is an evidence-based program committed to reducing group-involved gun and homicide violence through focused deterrence. The GVI program focuses on the groups at highest risk for violent victimization and offending. Our program goal is to empower at-risk clients to live a violence-free lifestyle with support and resources from community organizations.

The HUB Mural

The St. Mary’s County Health Department hosted a successful public paint day at the Health HUB in Lexington Park, MD, inviting community members and partnering agencies to contribute to a mural. The event was a resounding success and highlighted the power of community collaboration in creating a beautiful visual for the area. “Painting murals together is a wonderful way for our community to embrace the Hub and acknowledge the significance of the services it offers. This initiative embodies the spirit of partnership that has made the Hub a reality,” said Dr. Meena Brewster, St. Mary’s County Health Officer. “We are thankful to our community partners for their involvement in this enjoyable activity that supports health and wellness.”
